President Hassan Sheikh Mohamud Calls for Stronger African Unity at Africa Climate Summit 2025 in Addis Ababa

 

At the 2nd Africa Climate Summit held in Addis Ababa, President Hassan Sheikh Mohamud delivered a powerful speech highlighting the urgent need for African solidarity in addressing the devastating impacts of climate change.

He emphasized that climate change is not just an environmental crisis, but a threat to livelihoods, food security, and the future of generations to come. The President called for joint African solutions, stronger collaboration with international partners, and investments in renewable energy, green technology, and sustainable development.

President Hassan Sheikh also reminded the world that Africa contributes the least to global emissions, yet suffers the most severe consequences. He urged global leaders to honor their climate finance pledges and ensure that Africa receives fair support in adaptation and resilience building.
