Chief Warns of Escalating Humanitarian Crisis in Fashir, North Darfur

UN Secretary-General António Guterres has voiced deep concern over the rapid deterioration of the situation in the city of Fashir, North Darfur.

He warned of increasing risks to civilians who remain trapped in the besieged city, as the Rapid Support Forces (RSF) have maintained a strict blockade on Fashir for more than 500 days.

Guterres renewed his urgent call for an immediate cessation of hostilities, stressing the importance of protecting civilians and allowing humanitarian aid to reach the city without obstacles.

The humanitarian situation in North Darfur continues to worsen, with limited access to food, medicine, and basic services, raising fears of further tragedy if the siege and violence persist.
