Somalia Participates in the Second Maritime Transport Roundtable in Jeddah

 



The Minister of Ports and Maritime Transport of Somalia, H.E. Abdulkadir Mohamed Nur, attended the Second Maritime Transport Roundtable held in Jeddah, Kingdom of Saudi Arabia.

The two-day conference serves as an important platform for strengthening cooperation and partnership between Saudi Arabia, Somalia, and the wider international community.

During his remarks, the Minister highlighted Somalia’s strategic position in global maritime transport and underlined how the modernization and development of Somali ports will play a vital role in facilitating trade and driving economic growth.

The discussions at the roundtable focused on advancing sustainable maritime transport, enhancing port management and modernization, and promoting global trade facilitation. Somalia actively contributed to the deliberations, reaffirming its commitment to building stronger maritime partnerships and supporting the resilience of international shipping routes.

This participation reflects Somalia’s vision to leverage its geographic advantage and maritime resources to foster regional connectivity, economic progress, and stronger global cooperation.
