Somalia Strengthens Economic Ties at the Intra-African Trade Fair in Algeria

A high-level Somali delegation led by the Minister of Commerce and Industry, H.E. Mahmoud Ahmed Aden Geesood, has arrived in Algeria to participate in the prestigious Intra-African Trade Fair (IATF).

The delegation received a warm welcome in the capital by Algeria’s Minister of Foreign Trade and Export Promotion, Professor Kamal Rezeeq, together with Somalia’s Ambassador to Algeria, H.E. Yusuf Ahmed Hassan (Yusuf Jeego).

Minister Geesood’s participation in this continental trade exhibition marks a valuable opportunity for Somalia to showcase its economic potential, strengthen partnerships across Africa, and encourage both regional and international trade.

The Intra-African Trade Fair serves as a critical platform for promoting African integration, boosting exports, and fostering sustainable economic cooperation. For Somalia, this engagement is not only a chance to highlight its growing industries but also to affirm its commitment to regional economic growth and continental collaboration.

Somalia’s presence at IATF underscores its vision of transforming trade into a driver of prosperity, innovation, and stronger African unity.
