“Doha Talks End Border Violence: Pakistan & Afghanistan Call Ceasefire”

🚨 Breaking News: Pakistan and Afghanistan have reached a formal ceasefire after weeks of intense border clashes, marking a major step toward de-escalation in the region.

The agreement came after peace talks in Doha, mediated by Qatar and Turkey, aimed at ending one of the worst waves of violence along the two countries’ shared border since the Taliban took power in Kabul in 2021.

Pakistan’s Defense Minister, Khawaja Muhammad Asif, confirmed the ceasefire, adding that both sides will meet again in Istanbul on October 25 to discuss detailed arrangements.

The clashes had led to significant casualties and strained relations, with Pakistan accusing Afghanistan of sheltering militants—a claim Kabul denied. Afghanistan reported that at least three of its national cricket players were killed in Pakistani strikes, leading to their withdrawal from an upcoming tri-nation series in Pakistan.

This ceasefire is a hopeful sign for peace and stability in South Asia, though analysts warn that tensions remain high, and successful follow-up talks in Istanbul will be crucial.
