🇵🇸 Freed Palestinian Prisoners Expose Harsh Treatment in Israeli Jails

Dozens of Palestinian prisoners who were recently freed and returned to Gaza and the West Bank have come forward with shocking accounts of abuse and mistreatment inside Israeli prisons.

According to testimonies from the released detainees, they were beaten, tortured, and given rotten food during their imprisonment. Many claim they were held without charge or trial, a practice long condemned by human rights organizations.

Nearly 2,000 Palestinian prisoners have been released in recent weeks as part of the Hamas–Israel hostage exchange deal, which saw hostages held in Gaza swapped for Palestinians detained in Israel.

The United Nations has also documented similar reports, highlighting systemic human rights violations against Palestinian detainees.

For many of those freed, the joy of reuniting with their families comes mixed with the pain of what they endured behind bars — a grim reminder of the human cost of conflict.

✍️ “The era of silence must end. The world needs to hear what happens inside those walls,” said one former prisoner.
