Somalia Participates in UNHCR Executive Committee Meeting in Geneva

 




The Deputy Minister of the Ministry of Interior, Federal Affairs, and Reconciliation of the Federal Government of Somalia, Mr. Sadaad Mohamed Nur Aliyow, attended the 76th session of the Executive Committee of the United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees (UNHCR) at the agency’s headquarters in Geneva, Switzerland.

The meetings, taking place from October 6 to 10, 2025, focused on global refugee issues, with Somalia highlighted as one of the countries hosting refugees.

Mr. Sadaad was accompanied on this official visit by the Chairman of the National Refugee and IDP Agency, Mr. Ahmed Hussein Elmi.

This participation underscores Somalia’s commitment to international cooperation and support for displaced populations.
