Somalia Strengthens Aviation and Transport Ties with Saudi Arabia

 


Riyadh | October 22, 2025 – Somalia’s Minister of Transport and Civil Aviation, Hon. Maxamed Faarax Nuux, on an official visit to Saudi Arabia, held a productive meeting in Riyadh with Saudi Arabia’s Minister of Transport and General Logistics, Mr. Saleh bin Nasser Al-Jasser.

The meeting focused on enhancing bilateral cooperation in transport and aviation, with special attention on establishing regular direct flights between Somalia and Saudi Arabia.

Minister Nuux emphasized that the meeting was crucial in building a collaborative relationship beneficial for both nations and their people.

Both ministers agreed to form a technical committee to implement agreements and plans to strengthen aviation and transport ties.

The visit forms part of Somalia’s broader efforts to boost connectivity, trade, and service exchange with friendly countries in the region.
