Kismayo, Jubbaland – A three-day workshop focused on strengthening gender equality in the media sector has officially concluded in Kismayo. The training, which brought together 23 journalists – both men and women – was aimed at building awareness, enhancing professional skills, and encouraging equal opportunities within Somali media. Organized by SWJO in collaboration with IMS, the workshop emphasized the importance of ensuring inclusivity in reporting, newsroom practices, and content production. Participants engaged in practical sessions, group discussions, and case studies that highlighted challenges and opportunities related to gender balance in Somali journalism.
